I painted these clouds while testing out a more subtle version of additive color blending. Rather than use super saturated RGB, I faintly glazed over the white of the clouds to add color variation that still adds up to white. My thinking is that all paintings exist at some brushstroke resolution, and I want my paintings to have both color and variation in every direction from every point. Adding a little RGB to the whole painting creates some motion without going anywhere, kind of like a boxer bouncing on their toes.
