These road landscape paintings were based on the drive back home to Westchester, NY from Boston that my brother and I do every couple of months. The geometry of the hills is very much inspired by Grant Wood’s landscapes, which also make use of pointillism-like color blending.
This painting and its smaller predecessor were an exploration of the tools that I had built to make my rgb paintings, mainly the screen stencils that I 3D print. This paintings made use of dozens of 3D printed shapes, mostly small curved grid stencils for all the trees.
