After Sarah Goodrich’s Beauty Revealed, 1828. The story goes that Ms. Goodrich sent this self-portrait to Daniel Webster, who would go on to be a US Senator and Secretary of State under Millard Fillmore.
I was experimenting with different variations of the RGB type palette, as well as different pixel patterns. The pixels in this painting are a fleshier version of red, green, and blue, with all of the colors leaning slightly pale and orange.
I like to imagine walking around the surface of this painting, as if it were the tiles on the floor of a large room.
Oil on linen aluminum panel, signed on the back with the year 2025. Protected by a glossy varnish.
